I have studied many forms of chant & still benefit from techniques such as the 'mindfullness' of breathing. I have been fortunate enough to spend some time with buddhist monks on my travels, primarily in Sri Lanka. I am always amazed at how calm & clear people who chant regularly appear. Buddha regularly appears to people in a dream which often leads to an interest in chanting.
